ped Posted August 20, 2007 at 10:29 PM Share Posted August 20, 2007 at 10:29 PM Bonjour, I am a new member to this website. I run a UK bass forum at basschat.co.uk and since I play Vigier basses I thought it would be a good idea to register here. I have been playing a few years now and do some recording of music for TV and hope to make some money from it soon. Here is my current gear: Vigier Passion III fretless with a John East U-Retro Deluxe pre-amp: http://www.freewebs.com/chrishiscocks/ Sorry for using English but I hope some of you can understand me - I was going to try an online translator but I think it makes it harder to understand!! I look forward to talking to some of you - show me some pictures of Vigier basses please!! Cheers Chris
Basstyra Posted August 20, 2007 at 10:38 PM Share Posted August 20, 2007 at 10:38 PM I think most people here would prefer real english to false french coming from an online translater... Welcome in here. 3 Passions, that is passion !! I've been owning a Vigier for 2 years now, and as I just said in another thread, I'm just in love with it. You can have a look there : => http://basstyra.free.fr/matos/instruments/vigier/vigier.html

ped Posted August 20, 2007 at 10:44 PM Author Share Posted August 20, 2007 at 10:44 PM Thanks for the welcome! Basstyra, I have seen that bass before and recognise your name. I think we have crossed paths before? Lovely bass. I am tempted by the early model Arpege for sale on the Vigier forum actually!! I can't afford it just yet though. The basses do sound great with Trace Elliot, the V-Type stuff especially. I love graphite + valves! Cheers ped
Replica Posted August 20, 2007 at 10:47 PM Share Posted August 20, 2007 at 10:47 PM (edited) Welcome Nice basses you've got here ^^ Don't worry about speaking english, most of the people here at least understand a bit of english, otherwise they still can go on altavista ;) But maybe you'll need it too if you want to understand what's written here Edited August 20, 2007 at 10:48 PM by Replica
YveMeuH Posted August 20, 2007 at 10:48 PM Share Posted August 20, 2007 at 10:48 PM (edited) Welcome on Board!! (Chips' Copyright ) Very nice gear, I like the first one, so beautiful with her dark body and light neck Edited August 20, 2007 at 10:50 PM by YveMeuH
Basstyra Posted August 20, 2007 at 10:49 PM Share Posted August 20, 2007 at 10:49 PM I posted it on Talkbass and on the former Vigier forum. And it's the kind of bass one remembers.
ped Posted August 20, 2007 at 10:52 PM Author Share Posted August 20, 2007 at 10:52 PM (edited) Thanks!Altavista seems to work OK but often if I navigate away from the home page it stops translating ;0(I am looking forward to getting the 5 string, it is coming from Germany this week. I sold off a couple of basses to pay for it. Indeed my passion for the passion is high. I am looking forward to Patrice announcing the new series 4 model in the winter... Cheers everyone ped I posted it on Talkbass and on the former Vigier forum. And it's the kind of bass one remembers. Aha! I knew it! Nounouk Posted August 20, 2007 at 10:56 PM Share Posted August 20, 2007 at 10:56 PM Welcome to this board ! Glad to see a foreigner joining our community.... Good english is much more pleasant to read than google-translating. Hum... It took 5 minutes to write 3 sentences. Much easier for me to read english !! ped Posted August 20, 2007 at 10:59 PM Author Share Posted August 20, 2007 at 10:59 PM I appreciate the effort! I wish I had listened during French lessons at school now. I never thought I would find myself needing it!!
Ian Posted August 20, 2007 at 11:03 PM Share Posted August 20, 2007 at 11:03 PM Welcome on board dude. Amazing Vigiers you got there, I like em'all ! Don't bother using a crappy translator, use english... Cheers.
Basstyra Posted August 20, 2007 at 11:07 PM Share Posted August 20, 2007 at 11:07 PM By the way, maybe you would be interested on my other Vigier. The only problem is it's not a bass, but it's still a beauty... It just suffered a bit during its life, I saved it (with great help from a luthier who's posting in there too) some month ago. Sometimes, I wish my bass had this paint job... http://forum.onlybass.com/index.php?act=at...post&id=998 http://forum.onlybass.com/index.php?act=at...ost&id=1003
ped Posted August 20, 2007 at 11:11 PM Author Share Posted August 20, 2007 at 11:11 PM Yes, very nice guitar. My guitar player is looking for a passion guitar at the moment. I also fancy a Nautilus bass - any pics of those floating about here? Thanks for the welcome Ian. ped
Basstyra Posted August 20, 2007 at 11:18 PM Share Posted August 20, 2007 at 11:18 PM A Nautilus ? I saw one only once, and it was in a book... If you ever find one, I would be more than curious about it...
ped Posted August 20, 2007 at 11:24 PM Author Share Posted August 20, 2007 at 11:24 PM Mee too, only in a book - but also in this picture: The guitar version looks a lot like yours, in fact. I have just been through the 'Show your basses' thread, 18 pages of it. You lot have taste!

chaosfactory Posted August 21, 2007 at 12:38 AM Share Posted August 21, 2007 at 12:38 AM Why when we are on a foreigner forum we have to speak English, while when a foreigner come here we have to speak English again. French are too kind, too gentle. I don't agree about that. It's a scandal! Mutiny! "It's the fiiiiinaaal fiiiighteuuux" (l'internationale) I'm jokin' Welcome home dude Just for the pleasure (je devrais la mettre dans le topic des videos tiens...)
