albinokiller Posted November 4, 2015 at 06:38 PM Share Posted November 4, 2015 at 06:38 PM (edited) Hi What do you think about this My friend bought this Sadowsky NYC frm Thomann and it came with body/neck conection like this. We tought it must be something wrong with it. We have sent email to Roger, and when he replied every new Sadowsky NYC is built this way and he wants it to look like this. Bass is great, playable, huge sounding, but why do you think is this made like this? binuche Posted November 4, 2015 at 09:22 PM Share Posted November 4, 2015 at 09:22 PM on dirait un gros renversement pour améliorer l'angle d'attaque des cordes vis à vis du manche. Sans doute quasi obligatoire en fonction des côtes de cet instrument. Normal but not pretty...

No...not pretty at all...at first it really looks like something is wrong with neck...isn't there another way to do his...and I never noticed it on other basses... Norwood Posted November 5, 2015 at 08:48 AM Share Posted November 5, 2015 at 08:48 AM I had many sadowsky, metro or NYC, I never seen that! For me I return back the parcel.
PaowZ Posted November 5, 2015 at 08:53 AM Share Posted November 5, 2015 at 08:53 AM Take out the neck and glance at the pocket to see if something went wrong. Keep in mind on many JBs and the likes, it is common to find a thin wedge under the neck so that you can lower strings even more than just acting on saddles.. gargouill Posted November 5, 2015 at 10:04 AM Share Posted November 5, 2015 at 10:04 AM (edited) No need. New Standards Sadowsky have deeper neck pocket so i imagine the angle of the neck pocket is necessary to have a good set up. The reason why the neck pockets are deeper is explained there: http://www.talkbass.com/threads/club-sadowsky-part-37.1061527/page-27#post-15895963 Edited November 5, 2015 at 10:04 AM by gargouill
Norwood Posted November 5, 2015 at 10:05 AM Share Posted November 5, 2015 at 10:05 AM I think that Roger don't want to have a bass returned back to him. Be carefull if a day wants to sell it.
guyal Posted November 5, 2015 at 10:08 AM Share Posted November 5, 2015 at 10:08 AM I've a carl thompson which is exactly built this way. there's an ebony heel between the neck and the body to give a particular angle to the neck. in my opinion, your sadowsky has no pb at all.
