salut,

je suis tombé sur cette marque MONOLITH. la démarche est assez simple, efficace et disons "radical". tout est fait par une seule personne. (le prix s'en fait aussi un peu ressentir). les modèles sont principalement des répliques de modèles 70ies assez identifiable. (Acoustic / Sunn principalement ). il n'en reste pas moins que cela transpire le matos de bonne facture, avez vous déjà essayé ? avez vous déjà croisé ce genre de matos ? vos impressions ? merci !

Les tifs et la barbe, c'est la mode là bas. Il n'y a qu'à consulter les sites de Verellen et Emperor pour le constater.

Pour ma part, je trouve ses cabs bien réalisés mais pas vraiment glamour. Et puis les Eminence legend, c'est pas vraiment le haut de gamme de la marque.

Bref, pas emballé...

ha ! un peu de scepticisme, enfin ! non plus sérieusement, c'était un peu le sens de mon post. savoir si quelqu'un avait pu voir ces Hps sonner en vrai ( le mec des Melvins joue dessus notamment ). Après le Look, on sait que les ricains sont fort pour allier l'utile & l'agréable... l'habit ne fait pas le moine, mais depuis que le moine joue dans Sunn O, on peut quand même se poser des questions ?!!?

je trouve assez salutaire, la démarche de faire soi meme ses effets, ses Hps et d'en arriver a générer une marque ( même si tout ça reste de la "réédition" de très bonne facture )...

Niveau des Hps, tu peux acheter les Config' vide et mettre ce que tu veux dedans... et puis ça permet aussi de faire des économies dans les prix de sorties du box' je pense. la réalité des musiciens doit bien être la même qu'ici... tous fauché !

alors bon... ça se discute... encore une fois, je pense pas que l'on soit dans du Haut de Gamme, je veux dire, je pense pas que se soit le discours du gars... on est dans un truc efficace, qui sonne avec une menuiserie digne des anciens Cabs (marshall,hiwatt,orange...) pas un truc en compressé...

mais plumage & ramage c'est une vrai question et a moins de commander un Fuzz (qui est probablement un schéma de pédale bien connu )et un cab et de regarder comment ça sonne et comment c'est fait...

J'en avais un peu entendu parler (sur sunn.ampage.org je crois), mais je reste un peu sceptique. Faudrait pouvoir tester.

Dans le fond, c'est quand même cool de pouvoir se trouver des baffles quasi-identiques à du vieux matos Sunn ou Acoustic :)

Hi this is Wade from MONOLITH. I'm sorry I do not speak french but I wanted to say hello and that a friend directed me here. If anyone has any questions regarding MONOLITH gear let me know! Glad to see there is interest in France! I can build 1x10 or 1x12 cabs I just prefer the heavy ass bass gear! Its in my blood. Ha! Cheers everyone!

Can i ask you one question ? Why do you use vintage 30 on the 412 ? We can't play bass one these, am i right ?

Hello! and thank you! There are other options for the 412-L. I am working with some speaker manufacturers to find the best possible bass speaker for this cab! I used vintage 30's to accommodate guitar players. I had to build at least 1 guitar cab, I was catching flack for it. Ha! Ultimately this cab was redesigned from the original Sunn version to bring out more bass through the bottom port. All and all, it makes the guitar roar. Again, thank you and I will be around if anything else comes up.

Je ne suis pas un fin connaisseur et les V30 n'en font peut-être pas partie (edit: réponse ci-dessus), mais il y a bien des HPs "Guitare" qui supportent sans soucis la Basse. Pas mal de vieux cabs, comme Bassman par exemple, sont ainsi ? me trompâte ?

Sinon Arnoggedon, je ne parlais pas de ses tifs ou sa barbe :goute: Quand je disais cool c'était plutôt concernant sa conception de la chose (et pourtant, personnellement ce n'est non plus ce que je rechercherais comme cab) mais je trouve la démarche intéressante, ça a l'air bien fait et ce n'est pas hyper-cher. Ce n'est pas glamour c'est vrai, pourtant ça a un bon style bien cohérente -je trouve- .. des vieux frigos.. bruts.

It's quiet frustrating to see your amazing stuff without probably any chance to hear it for real!

I'm quiet sure there is no chance that one day you ve got any european dealers or something ? or is it @ work ?

To sum up this post, i guess people were quiet excited to see that someone was still building cabs in the good old way even if some wants to hear it first before preaching ! ( which is quiet normal )

then, your fuzz sounds great. really nice & good looking.

i was thinking about ordering one to get an idea...for real! do you know that guy from Crush The Button in Belgium ? he knows your work and he is dealing a lot of amazing pedals & effects, nice guy... maybe you should get in touch w/ him to have some items oversea...

maybe you already got some copies in Europe ?

anyway, it's kinda cool to talk to you, and that was way above my expectation when i first start this topic !

maybe see you one day in Portland... i m stocked by all the amazing stuff i have seen there... (from bands to labels and so on !)

Hey man, good to hear all of these nice things! I have talked with David from Crush the Button on a few occasions and we have talked of getting some pedals over there! This year has been pretty intense at MONOLITH. We have been going through and redesigning the products and business structure to accommodate growth. We went to NAMM this year and came home only to realize that the CMOS bass preamp needed to be done! So, as of now we are working around the clock to get the preamp off the ground! Its exciting but soooooo much work. For quite a while (3 years) I was the only person doing the work, ALL of the work. I finally have people helping me with the work, it has taken a long time to get there. I have had a number of inquiries from Europe, what often scares people off is the shipping from the states, fair enough! It's pricey! Pedals are actually not too bad, but cabs are really expensive to ship there. This is the main problem with having the cabs over there. At any rate, thanks again for the kind words and I will be around. Again, good to see that MONOLITH has interest in the French community!

Le "L" du nom "412L" correspond à "Lead", donc guitare. "B" pour "Bass", "RH" pour "Rear Horn", et je ne sais plus quoi encore. C'est le système de notation utilisé par Sunn pour distinguer les baffles (et amplis : Beta Lead, Beta Bass,...) selon les instruments.

Du coup, le choix des V30 se justifie.

Héhé et puis rien n'empêche de balancer les low freq dans son 415 et le reste dans les gamelles du 412 avec une tête qui crunch à mort.

Un peu comme lemmy quoi !

D'ailleurs rien à voir mais si jamais tu laches ton sunn un jour passe moi un petit MP.
