Pour mémoire, Lilic avait posté une video qui m'avait totalement retournée et je suis rentré tout de suite dans l'univers de Sparklehorse Au petit jeu des comparaisons, je dirais, Eels, Flaming Lips, Mercury Rev et Grandaddy... Bref, Mark Linkous, chanteur lunaire multi instrumentiste pond son premier album, accrochez vous au pinceau "Vivadixiesubmarinetransmissionplot" en 1995 <img src="https://images-eu.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/P/B000002TWZ.08.MZZZZZZZ.jpg"> Sorte de folk rock allumé, la voix éteinte, chuitante et lunaire de Linkous irradie sur tout l'album, désespéré mais avec qqs éclairs de violence sonique digne du noisy rock pur jus. Ce qui m'étonnera dès le départ, un artiste pouvant autant se réclamer de Nick Drake que de My Bloody Valentine. Il mixe Valium et antidépresseurs, tombe dans le coma dans une chambre d'hotel, reste 14 heures inconscient avec les jambes coincées sous son corps... Celui-là, je vais le déguster à petits coups gourmands, de préférence en soirée; Sparklehorse s'écoute mieux au crépuscule...
