Un pickguard cream plutôt ou d'aspect vieilli, mintgreen c'est ça ? Au final le pick blanc est pas mal... pour le moment. Attendons donc qu'elle arrive ! Candy apple red alors ? Bonne couleur pas trop commune, super état apparemment, pas trop chère... Elle ira rejoindre la copine de 78, je pense qu'avec un nouveau micro elle n'aura pas à rougir. Faudrait que je me plonge dans les comparo de micro PB moi... Fralin, Antiquity de SD, Aero, Delano (pas forcément les big plots d'ailleurs)... etc etc etc... Guest Romjé Posted October 29, 2008 at 10:17 PM Share Posted October 29, 2008 at 10:17 PM (edited) Oui Olive, SD Antiquity II, DiMarzio P, Nordstrand NS-4, Fender... - Le SD est très proche du Fender, c'est LE pur son PB 60's, un peu boueux dans les graves mais avec un grain vraiment superbe. - Le DiMarzio est plus moderne, plus froid et assez agressif, des basses bien présentes et des aigues plutot en retrait. - Le Nordstrand est superbement équilibré et possède un niveau de sortie assez puissant, un peu comme le Dimarzio. Le timbre est orienté vintage mais avec des graves extrêmement précis et des aigus chantants, ce serait mon choix numéro un pour une PB touche érable. - Le Fralin (que j'ai essayé sur Lakland) est plus rugueux que le NS et un peu moins performant dans la définition des graves, il est plus growly, pas exactement le timbre Fender ou SD, mais la même chaleur et une rondeur similaire. There are many misconceptions about what a pickup can do for a bass. These misconceptions are mostly propagated by pickup manufactures who are hungry to add something special to their products, but that doesn't exist in fact. A fancy pickup name will only take you so far, eventually you are found out. The Aero hallmark is a True-To-The-Instrument Sound. All Aero pickups have a broad frequency response (good bass, flat mid, clear high), and a high level output (you will not need a pre-amp to boost gain). The frequency response of most Aero pickups is broader than that of the instrument. You can use any pre-amp with Aero pickups, but note that the frequency response of the pickups is better than any pre-amp you can install. Aero pickups will accurately convert the mechanical vibrations of your instrument into electrical signals. This means, if the frequencies are in the instrument they will also show up in the electrical signal. So... your bass problems may be your bass, or if the bass has a good acoustic sound, a pickup which lacks the frequency response to reproduce the sound. The best thing you can do, before you purchase Aero pickups, is to test your bass , because if the bass doesn't have an intrinsically good sound then the pickup won't help. Take the instrument (no amplifier), find a quiet room, shut the door, and play it acoustically (unplugged). If you like the sound you hear, this is the sound that will be reflected in the electrical signal by the Aero pickup. You may find that the standard Aero Pe Bass 4 Type 1 works for you. The Pe Bass 4 Type 3 is also an excellent choice, with slightly lower output and some "magnet" (not clipping) distortion in the bass that can make an instrument feel warmer. Type 1 pickups will work in any bass, but Type 3 pickups are not for every instrument. Aero Pe Bass 4 Type 1 pickups (standard 19.00mm C-C string spacing) are $150.00 each without cover.
